Florham Park, NJ (Sports Network) - The New York Jets have released backup quarterback Mark Brunell.

The former Jacksonville star spent just the 2010 campaign with the Jets and appeared in only two games. He completed 7-of-13 passes for 117 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

Brunell, a three-time Pro Bowl choice who will turn 41 years old in September, has thrown for 32,045 yards with 184 touchdowns and 108 interceptions in an 18-year career that began with Green Bay in 1993.

After spending his first two seasons with the Packers, he was traded to the Jaguars before the 1995 campaign and spent nine very successful seasons in Jacksonville. He then played four years in Washington, the first three as the starter, before a two-year stint in New Orleans.

The Jets also waived cornerback Will Billingsley and guard Marlon Davis.
